Monsanto likely topic at Organization for Competitive Markets conference

A conference in St. Louis next month will focus on competition in the agriculture market and will likely include discussions about what some farmers describe as Monsanto Co.’s ”stranglehold” on seeds. Some farmers allege that the biotech company engages in anti-competitive practices, which lead to lower crop yields and monopolistic costs to farmers and consumers, the Organization for Competitive Markets (OCM) said Monday.
